This activity focuses on the history of Christmas: how Christian teachings were combined with Roman, Pagan and ancient cultural origins and celebrations and how the Victorians had an impact in creating the modern Christmas millions of people celebrate today.
The questions are designed to fit the requirements of the English Language GCSE specification in terms of non-fiction reading and comprehension.
It can be used in form time as part of literacy focus, or in an English lesson for KS3/4 GCSE and Grade 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 comprehension training.
