EnglishGCSE.co.uk is delighted to unveil that we worked as educational consultants to create content for the new BBC Bitesize English Literature interactive quizzes and learning journeys.
The quizzes cover multiple key GCSE texts (An Inspector Calls, A Christmas Carol, Frankenstein, Animal Farm and Blood Brothers) and for each text we produced content for quizzes on form, structure and language, themes, plot and character learning journeys.
EnglishGCSE.co.uk's Paul Wassell worked with Hamlett Films to create engaging and relevant content that combines questions and tasks with animation, artwork, archive footage, voiceovers and music, all free for students and teachers to access and use via the BBC Bitesize website:
All of the content includes a focus on adaptive learning and teaching, providing opportunities for students of a range of abilities to access the materials and move themselves forwards in their own independent learning.
Sian Hamlett, founder and managing director of Hamlett Films, said that:
"Paul Wassell was Educational Consultant across 50 GCSE English Literature interactive quizzes for our client BBC Education. He wrote all content across five GCSE text working closely with the BBC Educational Consultant and the in-house Hamlett team. His quality of work was of the highest standard across all interactive activities.
"Paul is a creative and collaborate thinker, his communication skills are of the highest standard and he was always able to answer questions and provide advice at short notice which was incredible. His knowledge of the texts was extensive and his pedagogical expertise outstanding. His written content considered the strong and weaker learner and informed the final animations created."
We are proud of the content created and we hope that these resources will be useful to teachers, students, parents and guardians in the build up to this year's GCSE English Literature exams and beyond.
